In September 2007, Business Objects announced its intention to acquire FUZZY! Informatik, the leading provider of data quality solutions in Europe with more than 13 years of experience in the market. In combination with Business Objects enterprise information management (EIM) technologies, they will provide organizations with a best of breed solution to apply data quality processes to any customer, product or region-specific data that help customers execute on their data management goals.
In May 2007, Business Objects announced its intention to acquire Inxight Software, a leading provider of software solutions for unstructured information discovery, including text analytics, federated search, and data visualization. With the intended acquisition of Inxight, Business Objects will be able to expand to access unstructured data such as emails, documents, notes fields, and Web content in more than 30 languages.
In June 2007, Business Objects announced the acquisition of Cartesis, a leading specialist in enterprise performance management (EPM) software. With the acquisition of Cartesis, Business Objects is broadening its performance management platform to address financial reporting and consolidation, as well as governance, risk, and compliance.
In November 2006, Business Objects announced the acquisition of nSite, a popular software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider with nearly 27,000 subscribers. The acquisition greatly accelerated and expanded the ability for Business Objects to deliver on-demand BI solutions, building upon the success of crystalreports.com.
In October 2006, Business Objects completed the acquisition of ALG Software, a leading provider of profitability management and activity-based costing solutions. The acquisition of ALG allows Business Objects to help customers generate improved profitability and control costs - which is quickly becoming one of the top priorities in EPM.
In April 2006, Business Objects completed the acquisition of Firstlogic, Inc., a global provider of enterprise data quality software and services. By adding data quality to its enterprise information management (EIM) portfolio, Business Objects is providing customers with best-of-breed tools to generate trustworthy information that forms the basis for enterprise BI and performance management deployments.
In October 2005, Business Objects completed the acquisition of Infommersion, Inc., the leading provider of information visualization and presentation software. This acquisition allowed Business Objects to bring interactive visualization to its business users in new and innovative ways - now available as BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise.
In September 2005, Business Objects completed the acquisition of Medience, a small provider of sophisticated technologies for real-time data access - including enterprise information integration (EII). The acquisition accelerated the development and innovation in our EIM platform - resulting in the release of BusinessObjects Data Federator.
In August 2005, Business Objects completed the acquisition of SRC Software. By acquiring SRC, a leading vendor of financial planning and performance management software, Business Objects obtained industry leading financial planning and performance management products, which offer integrated budgeting, planning, forecasting, consolidations, productivity measurement, and reporting systems to improve overall performance.
In December 2003, Business Objects completed the acquisition of Crystal Decisions, the fastest-growing vendor in the business intelligence market, and the leading provider of enterprise reporting software with more than 15 million licenses shipped. This transaction joined two of the strongest-performing BI companies in enterprise software, with highly complementary products, distribution channels, and talent pools.
In August 2002, Business Objects completed the acquisition of Acta Technology, Inc., a leading data integration provider. This acquisition provided Business Objects with world class extraction transform and load (ETL) capability with data integration (DI), allowing customers to establish EIM initiatives within their business intelligence practices.
